Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of General Calls (the “Game”) and its website. They are a binding agreement between you and General Calls Development Team (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Game you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age at which you can consent to the processing of your personal data in your country if that is higher. If you are younger, you may use the Game only with the verifiable permission of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for your use of it. You may not use the Game if you have been banned from it, or if the law of your country prohibits you from doing so.

2. Your account

• Provide accurate information and choose a username that is not misleading, offensive, or the name of another person or organisation.
• Keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for all activity on your account, and you must tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
• One person may hold one account. Accounts may not be shared, sold, lent or transferred.
• We may refuse, rename or remove a username that breaches these Terms.

3. Licence to play

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• cheat, use bots, scripts or automation to play for you, exploit errors in the Game for advantage (please report them instead), or manipulate the Game's results or rankings;
• operate more than one account to gain an advantage, to circumvent a restriction or ban, or to take both sides of a contest, or abuse any rewards or referral scheme;
• harass, threaten, abuse, impersonate or discriminate against other players, or post hateful content, content that sexualises minors, content that incites or glorifies real-world violence or terrorism, or any other unlawful content;
• post spam or advertising, or disclose other people's personal information;
• probe, scan or test the security of the Game, attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt or overload the service, or interfere with other players' connections;
• copy, reverse engineer, decompile or extract the code or data of the Game except as the law allows, or build a competing service from it.

The Game is a work of fiction set in a historical conflict. Taking the role of a general is part of play; using the Game to promote real-world violence or hatred is not.

5. Content you post

You are responsible for your username and for what you write in chat. You keep any rights you have in it, and you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and transmit it to other players and to use it as needed to operate, secure and moderate the Game. You confirm that you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or the law. We do not monitor all content in advance, but we may review, remove or restrict it.

6. Moderation and enforcement

If we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, or that your conduct harms the Game, other players or us, we may take proportionate action, including warning you, removing content, restricting chat, removing you from a match, reversing awards or progress gained through a breach, suspending or terminating your account, and blocking access from a network address or range. Where appropriate we will tell you why. If you think we made a mistake, you can ask us to review the decision by contacting us.

To report abuse, illegal content or a security concern, contact us using the details in section 17. We will review reports in good faith and promptly.

7. Virtual items and progress

Funds, ranks, statistics, awards, tags, colours, divisions and territory exist only within the Game. They have no monetary value, are not your property, and cannot be sold or exchanged for anything outside the Game. We may adjust, reset or remove them, and may restart, end or rebalance matches, for example to keep the Game fair or to fix errors. The Game currently has no paid features; if we introduce any, separate terms will apply.

8. Availability and changes to the Game

We aim to keep the Game available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may carry out maintenance, and may change, suspend or discontinue features or the Game as a whole. Where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

9. Intellectual property

The Game, including its software, graphics, sounds, maps, text and trademarks, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the licence in section 3, no rights are granted to you. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

10. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms affects any legal rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of progress, data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Game. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Game is limited to EUR 100. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Game at any time and may ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access as described in section 6, if the law requires, or if we discontinue the Game. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes to the Game or the law. The version and date at the top of this page show when they last changed. For significant changes we will give notice on the website or when you log in. If you do not accept the updated Terms you should stop using the Game and may delete your account; continued use after the change takes effect means that you accept them, to the extent the law allows.

14. Governing law and disputes

Governing law

These Terms and any dispute relating to them are governed by the law of Croatia, and the courts of Croatia have jurisdiction, in each case without depriving you of the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, or of any right you may have to bring a claim before the courts of that country.

Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so that we can try to resolve it informally.

15. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Game. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms to a successor operator of the Game; you may not assign yours. Nobody other than you and us has rights under these Terms. We may give you notices through the website or, if you have given us one, by email.

16. Our responsibility for your information

How we handle personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, and how the Game uses cookies and similar technologies in the Cookie Policy.
